Bitcoin rose sharply on Friday, extending a recent rally above key levels as risk appetite increased after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a trade deal with the U.K. and expressed hope for tariff cuts with China.

The world's largest cryptocurrency was poised for a strong weekly rally, breaking the coveted $100,000 mark on Thursday. The cryptocurrency was also heading for a third straight week of gains, continuing a rally that began in late April.

Bitcoin rose 4.1% to $102,762.8. The coin had previously risen to a three-month high of $103,885.
