Howard Lutnick reported that Trump intends to announce a major policy change on cryptocurrencies, including plans to create a strategic digital asset reserve, at a meeting of crypto market participants with White House officials scheduled for March 7:

"Bitcoin will be given 'unique status' under Trump's plans, other cryptocurrencies will be treated differently - positively, but differently."

The Crypto Summit will be an important venue for discussions on regulatory clarity, financial innovation and economic opportunities for the emerging digital asset sector, the minister said.

A number of major market players have confirmed their participation in the summit. Among them are Kraken exchange co-CEO Arjun Sethi, Chainlink crypto project co-founder Sergey Nazarov, Strategy (former MicroStrategy) founder Michael Saylor and some others.

Earlier, Brian Armstrong, CEO of the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase (NASDAQ: COIN ), said that it would be better if the US crypto reserve contained only Bitcoin.
